Going into the weekend, the weather gurus were predicting highs in the mid-80s. 
Saturday we were glad to have the excuse of T-ball opening day to sit under blue skies in short sleeves and sandals. Sunday we thought it would be fun to take one of our favorite local walks down to the Harvard boat house. I left 
my sunglasses behind, thinking we’d be in the shade most of the way.
Did I say shade? Dealing with balmy temperatures is a bit different in April than during the usual months.
With the leaves still coming out and the temps delivering as promised, we were all crabby from heat-induced headaches by the time we made it home. Ah, family togetherness . . . .
Upon hearing the heat wave would continue through today, we dropped everything after school and headed to the beach. I watched the kids 
run down to the water and back, kicking up sand. We buried Gavin and then Arwen. We munched on healthy cookies and homemade 
fruit rolls. Gavin found a friend with a kite. Arwen went off to investigate the area by the fence. We started into The Long Winter, the sixth in Laura 
Ingalls Wilder’s Little House series. Then we packed up and headed home.
After today’s test run, I think we’re ready for summer.

How fun! I truly truly miss the beach. Many times when I've been stressed I've missed driving along the shore to relax. Enjoy!
It was a perfect beach day. Which beach was that? Do you always go to the same one? We haven't ever taken our family to the beach since we've lived here.
It's the Waterford town beach - our favorite for the natural areas in particular.
